Yesterday 24th June 2015, we took a drive to the Tichborne Arms in Tichborne, Hampshire. The drive has to be one of the best drives we have done in the Mini to date with some of the most magnificent views.
The drive from Portsmouth took about 45 minutes, the roads were winding, rough and great fun. We wanted to take more pictures but the light fading prevented that so we aim to do the run again in the hope of more success.
The Mini however started to rattle all the way down these roads, turns out the heat shield on the brakes has broken away and was today removed when I took it in to the garage. I also found out that I need two new front tyres as they are worn out on the edges.
These little issues get less and less but slowly, you get rid of two and another one (if you are lucky) rears its ugly head. But still she drives these roads like a dream.
We had some ‘pub grub’ in the Tichborne Arms and it has to be said it was really nice, worth the trip just for the food. Rather expensive, but as it is s remote I can understand why. All the same well worth another visit.
The Pub dates back to the 12th century apparently with visitors such as King Henry II, and with all the antiques in view it felt like a rally old place.
