The King’s Royal Hussars Tercentenary Celebrations

On Saturday the 18th July 2015 the King’s Royal Hussars celebrated its 300th birthday by inviting all the veterans and serving members of the regiment to Tidworth to watch the Guidon of the Regiment being paraded in front of HRH the Princess Royal Colonel-in-Chief to the regiment.

The day was beautiful, fitting for such a momentous occasion. All the squadrons took part parading in the heat in their No1 Dress, and they were immaculate, made us all feel very proud to have been a part of this fine British Army cavalry regiment.

Princess Anne inspected the regiment in her primrose and blue outfit and then took the salute of the regiment. Once the parade was over and the troops had marched off she was asked to meet some of those currently serving and some veterans.

Lunch was in the form of a buffet and with over 3000 mouths to feed the chefs had their work cut out, but like the regiment on parade again did themselves proud.

The regiment then provided many forms of entertainment including a Polo match, Historical dress and a party in the evening. On the Sunday a service of remembrance was held followed by a curry lunch.

This was a truly momentous occasion and it was great to meet so many friends I served along side that I had not seen for 20 years or more in some cases.

Thank you to the King’s Royal Hussars.
