Bishops Waltham Palace

Owned by English Heritage the grounds are beautiful though very little is there. The museum is open only at weekends so there was no real information available at the site. The Palace is long gone with only walls remaining. Some of the walls have plaques telling what those ‘rooms’ were thought to be when this huge estate was in use by these most powerful of men.

The grounds are very photographic as you will see by my pictures hopefully, but with no English heritage personnel around and no brochures or other form of information I would say this is a weekend visit only.

Bishops Waltham is however lovely with a small group of shops and a few pubs, though closed on the day we visited because of potential trouble from the ‘travelling community’ we were told.

If you would like to read about the palace please use these links:

There are a lot of Photographs here, I normally reduce my pictures enormously but in this instance I have not published a few. The reason is I really like all of them and I think they all need sharing. All the pictures can be enlarged by just clicking on them, I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.
