Loch Ness

We went up and down the narrow and winding roads with the cliff face on one side and the Loch on the other and it has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the United Kingdom. The rain was pouring down the cliff face and onto parts of the road washing debris and other obstacles onto the road surface.

The Exhibition Centre – at least they were honest and we didn’t have to fish for the truth

Loch Ness itself is so much larger than I thought and is, like I said, surrounded by the most stunning countryside. We visited a Loch Ness Monster museum but alas the monster itself was not playing on the days we were in town and was nowhere to be seen.

The Centre

The road past Fort William was still blocked by the landslide that caused our diversion getting to Inverness and therefore our travel plans were again disrupted limiting the distance that we could travel down the road.
