Mini Events

Beaulieu 8th June 2014

My day started at 7am, I wanted the car to look its best so took her to the wash, got her back home then polished her all over, inside and out.

I had aranged to meet with the Portsmouth and Southampton Mini Owners Club at Rownhams services on the M27 at 8.30 so we left Portsmouth at 8am and made it in plenty of time, took some snaps, had a chat and then headed to Beaulieu in convoy, first time for me, great fun.

The convoy took about 20 minutes once there we entered the Beaulieu site and lined up, placing St. Georges flags on the cars, boards and banners up and then people came viewing all the groups mini’s.

So we went doing the same, looking at the mini’s owned by others and some beautiful cars there were. Funny how every mini has its own personality and look. So many different ideas we have on how they should look, but it was excellent.

Stalls, many of them selling all sorts of things from wheels, seats, body parts to the smallest tyre valve covers. I purchased some new door handles and a gear knob, the last of the big spenders.

For us the day ended about 1pm after our ice creams and Pork bun as we had to return to Portsmouth, but this event is now a perminant fixture on our diaries, lets hope the weather is as good on them all.

Dudley 11th May 2014

Today I took the mini to Dudley near Wolverhampton for the Himley Hall get together. The drive took about 4 hours of steady (ish) driving to get there in some awful weather conditions at times, but she drove beautifully.

On arrival I was greeted by hundreds of Mini’s in all sorts of condition and colours, some were simply magnificent, the owners have obviously spent months if not years getting these cars to their current condition.

Many sale stalls were in place selling Mini components, T shirts, Handbags, bags, key rings and so many other Mini related items. Even some fantastic looking Mini’s were for sale, as well as projects waiting to be taken on by the die hard Mini lovers.

I went by myself on this one and only stayed a couple of hours, but I enjoyed it all the same I’m already looking forward to the next event.

I have taken some pictures for you all to look at and enjoy.
