Port Solent is only about 20 minutes away from home so we kept this run local. The town is an area of Portsmouth, Hampshire, comprising a marina and luxury housing estate. The development is located on the western side of Horsea Island, in the north of Portsmouth Harbour, and was built in the 1980s on reclaimed land formerly used as a landfill site. There are many methane gas outlets situated around the site, allowing the gas occurring from the decomposing waste beneath the site to escape.
Facilities for residents and visitors include a multiscreen cinema, health club, and restaurants and shops along a precinct known as The Boardwalk.
Many very large and probably costly boats of all types are mored in the harbour, part of the residents area looks down at the harbour in all its splendour, it has to be one of the nicer parts to live in the area?
